ChatGPT App Store downloads are rocketing, but other apps exceed mobile revenue

If you told me there was an AI app on the App Store that makes more money than ChatGPT, I’d be a little skeptical. But if you told me there were 4 or 5, I’d think you’re playing a prank on me.

But turns out that’s just the case. Despite the fact that ChatGPT leads the charts for most downloads with 23 million+ installs, there are a number of AI photo and even chatbot mobile apps that bring in more money than ChatGPT.

“Chat & Ask AI” and “ChatOn — AI Chat Bot Assistant” are two apps that have generated more in sales revenue last month. The former with nearly $3.38 million and the latter with $2.11 million.

2 other chatbots called “AI Chatbot — Nova” and “AI Chatbot: AI Chat Smith” brought in over $1 million in revenue as well.

ChatGPT generated $1.98 million in mobile consumer spend as of last month. However, other AI apps like Remini ($6.22 million), PicsArt ($2.08 million) and Wonder ($4.78 million) generated more in mobile consumer spend.

While there’s a long list of mobile apps doing more mobile revenue than ChatGPT, it’s important to remember that mobile revenue is only one part of a larger picture. ChatGPT also sells subscriptions through the web and likely generates significantly more revenue through that channel.
